Vex IQ Robotics
Vex IQ robotics is a platform designed to transform the STEM learning paradigm for young students and their teachers. When students have the ability to jump right in and snap robots together using this intuitive tool-less system, it can unlock curiosity and a passion that will stay with them for life. This platform was selected because SLCS is a feeder school to Strake Jesuit and St. Agnes and they, too, use a Vex robotics platform.
Students form teams and using the engineering design process to imagine, design, and build robots to perform designated tasks. Every year there is a new challenge for students to use their imagination and collaborate with others, so the excitement is fresh each season. SLCS robotics students compete in at least one VexIQ Tournament which is typically held on a Saturday and requires an all-day commitment.
