#SaintsGiveWeek at home - PRINT HERE
Monday – the Gift of TIME
“Every opportunity to influence others to give generously of their time is an opportunity you have used to be a shepherd of the church of God.” Acts 20:35
The gift of time can be given in so many ways! Through volunteering, helping out around the house, supporting a friend or family member…what other ways does your family give the gift of TIME?
At school, every student will receive a blank “Gift of Time” coupon book that they can fill out and gift to a family member, a friend, their community, and their school.
Tuesday – the Gift of TALENT
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” Peter 4:10
God has blessed all of us with unique gifts and talents! How can we use these talents to better our world?
At school, there will be a #SaintsGotTalent banner for students to write their talents on – and we will display the banner at the talent show in May!
Wednesday – the Gift of TREASURE
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce.”
Proverbs 3:9
This day is a perfect way to discuss charity, tithing, and giving to others in order to honor all that God has given us.
At school, we will have the ever-popular train-whistle “Giving Tubes.” If students drop in a donation, they can push the fun “Train Whistle” button to inspire others to give, as well! Additionally, every family will receive a “Treasure Box” to decorate and fill with donations to bless SLCS. Maybe your student will give a portion of his allowance? Or perhaps she will gift some of her birthday money? Maybe you, as parents, can “match” what your child offers?
*Note: every family who returns their “Treasure Box” on Friday will receive a special treat!
Thursday – the Gift of THANKSGIVING
“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18
How wonderful it is to give thanks for all the blessings we receive! We thank God for His love and mercy; we thank others when they give to us; and we thank those who support and care for us.
At school, students will write a thank you note to the benefactors of SLCS. These cards will be mailed out as a show of gratitude for the support of our school. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to help create a “Gratitude Chain,” which will be used to decorate the school for Christmas!
Friday – the Gift of TRUST
“This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.”
1 Corinthians 4:1-2
To wrap up a wonderful week of learning about stewardship, it is vital to discuss the importance of trust. Being a trustworthy person, steward, family member, etc. is a lesson we must learn and hold in high regard.
At school, a bare “Tree of Trust” will be displayed. Students will have the opportunity to fill out “leaves” with ways they can show trust and be trustworthy. The “Tree of Trust” will come to life as students add their leaves.
Join us in making this #SaintsGiveWeek a memorable and meaningful experience for our students. Together, we can instill the values of service, stewardship, and thanksgiving in our school community.
