Student Council officers and classroom representatives (4th -8th) are expected to exhibit a high standard of responsibility and leadership. The Student Council works with the SLCS administration to bring the concerns and ideas of the students to the attention of the administration.
The SLCS Student Council is lead by an Executive Council made up of the following officers:
The Executive Council is made up of a President (eighth grade), 1st Vice President (seventh grade), and 2nd Vice President (sixth grade); the secretary, treasurer, and publicity chairperson can be a 6th, 7th or 8th grade student. The officers are elected in the spring so they will be in place to begin the school year.
The student body is represented by grade level representatives that bring concerns of their classmates to the Student Council. Each grade level elects 4 representatives to serve on the Student Council for the school year in August shortly after classes begin.
The Student Council participates in service projects and school and community events. The members also propose new ideas to help strengthen the St. Laurence Community.
