We have chosen St. Laurence Catholic School for its mission and values. SLCS provides not only rigorous academic education, but also a solid foundation of Christian faith, respect, discipline, and stewardship, which help guide young individuals to transform into future servants and leaders.
The leadership of Principal Barto and Rev. Fr. Wood is remarkable. The faculty, staff, and clergy deliver exquisite jobs, the PTO graciously offers invaluable aid with fun school events throughout the year. The Before and After School Program, BASC, is a bonus! Our 4th grader enjoys it!! Moreover, the cafeteria does an exceptional job providing lunches for our Saints.
As a school family for nearly 14 years, we noticed that there are various opportunities that allow parents to engage in their child’s school life, for both working and non-working parents.
Furthermore, we are pleased with the strong collaboration between the school and the parish. The involvement of the Clergy at SLCS is clearly noticeable. The students get ample opportunities to serve our community through service projects and the collaboration of the Social Concerns Ministry. School Masses, Meet-Me-At-Mass, SLCS Ministry Highlight, PTO Family Rosary, etc., engage the students in such an incredible fashion.
In all, the school sets a welcoming environment for both Catholic and non-Catholic families. SLCS is a place where children can experience quality learning and create healthy relationships with their peers. - Fotso Family
We are so proud and grateful to be a part of the St. Laurence Catholic School (SLCS) family. It is true that the extraordinary sense of faith, family, and community is lived out every day at SLCS. We began our journey with SLCS years ago, and we have witnessed the countless sacrifices our principal, assistant principals, teachers, and staff have made to ensure all children receive the best education, faith formation, and individual nourishment in a safe environment. A big reason why we are also with SLCS is because of our principal, Mrs. Barto. She literally runs a marathon every single day, from morning carpool to late night meetings, all in the best interest of our children and school. We trust in her leadership. The focus on mental health is quite evident in the special programs the counselors, teachers, and staff have implemented. It is a blessing to have Father Drew, Father Jaison, and Father Truong Son, in addition to our Sisters as part of the trinity in educating these eager and curious minds. Our children have developed into spiritually sound individuals which is very important to us. We can also attest to our niece who is at SLCS - excelling year after year. This is an ever-changing world where children can easily get lost in, and SLCS keeps our children grounded in our Faith. Our son will tell you that he loves SLCS because he gets to pray at school, and our daughter will tell you that her favorite song is “Lamb of God” and that she is so proud to have learned to pray the rosary from Father Truong Son. It is without a doubt that SLCS is the best environment for our children. We look forward to continuing this journey with our wonderful and supportive SLCS family. -Christine V.
As an active parent in our community, I know how important education is to create pathways to success, however, the foundation SLCS provides at a religious level gives our kids the best of both worlds. Catholic foundation along with quality education for all children is essential. At SLCS teachers are nurturing and loving while providing the structure and guidance my kid needs. It’s a privilege to be part of this wonderful community where the trinity of parent, child, and educator makes us what we are today! -Nora S.
St. Laurence Catholic School felt like home as soon as our daughters began attending. We love the welcoming and caring faculty, staff, and supporting priests. While receiving a strong foundation in their Catholic faith at St. Laurence, their students are growing, not only academically, but spiritually, socially, emotionally, and physically. This is very important to us since we want our children to have a well-rounded foundation that will carry them into their adult lives. We are confident that SLCS will leave a positive, lasting impression on children's minds, hearts, and faith. – Rafaela L.
St. Laurence is an amazing school for both of my young sons not only do they excel academically, but they also have a strong and true relationship with God. The support and love from the teachers and community are truly special. We are blessed to be part of this wonderful blue ribbon school. - Nora G.
While we are constantly impressed by the rigorous academics, the innovative tools and techniques, the safe and nurturing environment, and the emphasis on executive functioning and independence, for us it all comes down to the vibrant religious and moral character of St. Laurence. It is very important to us that our children receive a strong Catholic education, and St. Laurence excels at this. On those rare occasions when we start to daydream about the vacations we could take or the home improvements we could make instead of paying tuition, one of our daughters will come home and say something that simply astounds us and demonstrates the depth of religious and moral thought they are engaging in every day at school. The religious component clearly extends to every facet of life at St. Laurence and becomes part of everything our children do and say and the decisions they make. Our hearts have been touched in profound ways time and time again by our children’s words and actions because of the religious education they receive at St. Laurence. -Shawn S.
We moved to Sugar Land three years ago and are grateful that our daughters were accepted into the third and fifth grades. We love the faculty and staff and are thrilled to support this dynamic learning environment. - Bruce Y.
St. Laurence Catholic School is an amazing school and extension of our religious community. We love the staff and all they do for our children. - Stephen Montoya
